Big leaves do two important things in an orchard:
1️⃣ Photosynthesis generates the energy it needs to set and size cherries for this year and next, and resist pests.
2️⃣ Lots of leaves = lots of evapotranspiration. That means more nutrients pulled from the roots up into the canopy.
