Hello Wastelanders!
A New Year means new Fallout parody songs!
It feels like a while since I did something simple like this, and boy was it fun… I’ve been wanting to parody “Big Iron” for a long time. The song has so many lyrics that it has so much potential for fresh storytelling. Hopefully you enjoy the new tale I weave with it. And speaking of stories, I wonder if this may have something to do with Confessions of a Wasteland Pony, Episode 5?

LYRICS:
Was a hot and sunny Autumn in a town,
So long ago…
Nestled close between the mountains,
On a painted desert floor
Didn’t bother folks around them,
Near their quiet prairie strip,
But they had themselves a ranger,
With a Big Iron on his hip.
Big Iron on his hip
It was early in the morning
When the ranger heard the call
He then galloped down the street
But found there was no one at all
He went searching top and bottom,
But he didn’t hear a pip
He was there all by his lonesome
With the Big Iron on his hip
Big Iron on his hip.
So he set off through the canyon
Hoping soon to find a clue
If he had to scale the mountains
He would go and do that too
All to find his friends and neighbors,
By the duty that he swore,
He would bring them back to safety,
Him the one and nineteen more.
One and nineteen more
Soon he looked out from a cliff side
And did see a buffalo herd
He went down to ask among them
If there’s anything they heard
The big chief told of some others
And the totem that they fed,
The town were soon to parish
They were off to take their heads
Off to take their heads…
So the ranger and the buffalo
Ran as fast as they all could
Had to find them before sunset
Or else they’d be gone for good
As the night was growing closer
And the totem had its grip
They would die without the ranger
And the Big Iron on his hip
Big Iron on his hip
Once they finally reached the temple
Carved deeply in the rock
They did spot the townsfolk tied up
By dark and bloodied block
They were so greatly outnumbered
They could hardly find their breath
He thought it all was over,
Was about to meet his death
About to meet his death
They stormed down into the chamber,
Screaming loudly all around,
When the ranger met the shaman
Still distracted from the sound
Before he could reach for his potions,
Out the ranger’s pistol whipped
In a second it was over,
With the Big Iron on his hip
Big Iron on his hip
All the others scattered distant
As the totem lost its sway
With the shaman’s magic ended
The dark spirits slipped away
All the townsfolk came up to him
Held him tightly in friendship
Always thankful for the ranger
With the Big Iron on his hip…
Big Iron on his hip.
