~ Language, Bicycle Touring, Spiritual Insights | Steve Larson Conversation Part 1 ~

Many people feel stuck in the place they grew up, looking for an adventure to new experiences.

Steve Larson shares his story growing up in a Christian Church, but leaving the church to search for more meaningful spiritual practices. Steve found a way of transcending his localized, narrow view of the world by learning new languages. Learning another language can open your mind to see things in new ways. He majored in Spanish and also studied French, Arabic, and Sanskrit.

After graduating from college, Steve embarked on a bicycle tour across America from Ohio to the California coast with another friend, Chad. Along the way, they crossed paths with another traveler - Derek J Fiedler! Eventually, Derek and Steve traveled together through Mexico and Central America.

Steve shares his most valuable spiritual insights from bicycle touring. Somewhere along the way, the adventure turned into a spiritual pilgrimage. Steve studied the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and made temple visits a regular practice while traveling.

Once he came home he became a respected urban farmer. Stay tuned for further episodes from Steve and Derek's conversation about farming and other spiritual insights.
