What is the relationship between biblical Israel and the modern State of Israel? In this video, I interact with Michael Vlach’s argument that Israel’s ongoing significance does not depend on the establishment of the modern state in 1948. Although 1948 was not itself the fulfillment of Israel’s promised restoration, the Jewish people have continued to exist as a distinct people throughout centuries of exile and dispersion.
