In this part of this BF6 class series, we're looking at Recon & why there's much more to the role than sitting at long range collecting headshots.
Defined around spotting, intelligence, concealment, precision, infiltration & sabotage. Sniping can absolutely be part of that job, but simply carrying a marksman rifle & getting long-range kills doesn't necessarily mean you're performing the full role.
We're discussing what Recon contributes to the squad.
Identify threats, spotting enemy movement, exposing defensive positions, tracking armor & engaging priority targets, gives the rest of the squad the information they need to make better decisions.
But distance can work both ways. It can give Recon perspective over the battlefield, or isolate the player from what's actually happening on the objective.
That's where decision-making comes into the discussion.
