The next generation of the Tube Screamer has arrived. In this video, we’re checking out the TWA (Totally Wicked Audio) Source Code, a brand-new circuit designed in collaboration with Mr. Susumu Tamura—the legendary inventor of the original Tube Screamer. While it wears the classic green, this isn't just another clone; it’s a complete evolution with more headroom, top-mounted jacks, and a unique "Bite" control that changes everything.
What makes the Source Code different?
The Bite Control: Dial in even-order harmonics for a more aggressive, complex overdrive.
18V Internal Headroom: Runs on a standard 9V supply but pumps up the headroom internally.
True Bypass: A departure from the traditional buffered TS circuits.
Versatility: Works as a pristine clean boost, a classic blues OD, or a high-gain monster.
I’m testing this today using my Tokai Love Rock (LS110) and a Fender Stratocaster through a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue amp. No IRs or modelers—just real air moving in the room!
