Role Playing Games can be considered a staple of gaming, with plenty of them being released over the years. Those most tend to focus on the slower-paced titles, for those looking for more frantic experiences, Action RPGs are of course available too.
One of the lesser appreciated, but pivotal series has to be Falcom's Ys, which first made its way to Western audiences with a port to the Sega Master System in 1988. It's this port which is the focus of this episode of Beyond The Scanlines, exploring what makes this gem tick.

● Master System on Mega Drive: Mega Drive (Model 1 PAL via RGB), with a Terraonion MegaSD cart providing FM emulation.
● PC Engine: PC Engine CoreGrafx, with a Terraonion Super SD System 3 (via RGB).
