After watching this microphone review, you will know how the Beyerdynamic USB condenser mic sounds when using it for vocals, podcasting, or YouTube.
While normally I am a big fan of XLR microphones today I want to have a closer look at the FOX USB microphone instead.
Especially beginners, who just want to try podcasting, live-streaming, or YouTube, may start with a USB microphone, simply because it is so easy to use.
Just keep in mind that while USB mics are easier to use, an XLR mic, on the other hand, can give you more flexibility down the road because you can connect it to different pieces of audio gear.
So while a USB microphone may be easier to use at first, in the long run, if you ever want to make the switch to XLR gear, it may prove to be a disadvantage.
Overall I think the Beyerdynamic FOX has a very nice build quality, only the included USB cable was a little bit short.
Personally, I had hoped the mic to be a little bit more sensitive, not sure if it had to do with the fact that it is a USB-C, and I connected it to USB 2.0, in any case, as I mentioned in the video, positioning the microphone close to my voice gave me the best results.
