Finally, after a few rounds of experimental releases, the next major BetterRTX update is now released! This is one of the largest updates we've published in a while, completely revamping the art direction and a bunch of other features too! We even have a few new bug fixes that weren't initially included in any of the experimental releases too! This update is already available from within the installer, as well! With that said, here's the changelog:

RT, Lighting and Shading
Increased explicit light intensity to make torches, lanterns, etc. brighter.
Held items and first person hand no longer cast shadows from point lights.
Increased the global maximum exposure value to improve visibility in dark areas.
Enchanted items and armour will now emit light on the surrounding environment.
Held items and player hand are no longer visible in reflections and shadows in first person.
Emission from emissive entities now supports colour tinting. With this change XP orbs should now emit coloured light!

Sun and Shadow
Reconfigured the moon colour and intensity.
Fixed low resolution shadows during movement.
Reconfigured the sun colours and intensities during the day.
Tweaked the radius of the sun to better match the original demos.
Smoothed the transition between sun and moon light during sunrise/sunset.

Volumetric Lighting
Improved the intensity of rainbows.
Reduced fog intensity during rainfall.
Enabled a static global illumination fog for more immersive emission.
Improved the way fog scattering is distributed with respect to the sun. This should make it appear less biased towards the sun/moon.

Atmosphere
Increased the cloud render distance much further.
Adjusted the render distance fade start and end ranges.
Re-introduced cloud shadows at a lower opacity than vanilla.
Fixed an issue that caused a dark spot to appear at the top of the night sky.
Reduced direct night sky intensity, while preserving indirect sky lighting. The sky should appear darker but still emit sufficient light!

Water
Reconfigured water parallax values.

Nether
Adjusted Nether exposure configuration.
Improved Nether ambient light application.

The End
Made scattering and absorption values in The End configurable through resource packs.
Made End sunlight and sky colours configurable through the distance fog colour value in resource packs.

Post Processing
Adjusted the saturation of the tone map.
Implemented an improved bloom technique.

Fixes
Fixed Banner textures being offset by 1 pixel.
Improved the efficiency of the spectator mode fix.
Fixed an issue with incorrect parameters passed to the denoiser.
Fixed attachable items (bows, crossbows, etc.) and doors being darkened.
Fixed an issue that prevented the irradiance cache from updating 75% of the time.
Fixed blocks incorrectly refracting light by skipping alpha-blending surfaces with 0% opacity. This should prevent the transparent parts of blocks like Copper Grates and Frogspawn from behaving like glass.
