Iwer Sonsch | Better Than Wolves: The Hillroof base - better vision and consistency than the hillside mine base @iwersonsch5131 | Uploaded July 2024 | Updated October 2024, 12 minutes ago.
A few weeks ago (youtu.be/-5YjB_WXifU ) I showed off a base design for Better Than Wolves that can give you cheap and easy shelter for your first night while also supplying you with blocks and stone.
This version of the base provides better vision, gives you more blocks on average, has a less demanding layout, and has a higher chance of working at all.
Some spots that would have been completely unusable for a hillside mine base might now be unsafe from creepers even in base BTW, let alone hostile or MEA.
How to make a hillroof base:
All you need for this base is a 3 block long straight line on the edge of any hill or mound made of grass blocks.
Dig the middle grass block and the block behind it to verify that a hillroof base is possible.
Dig up the grass blocks next to the first one to turn the dirt behind it into loose dirt.
Enter the base through the first grass block you dug.
Dig up the pillars of loose dirt to reveal pillars of regular dirt behind them. Dig the lower block in each of those pillars of regular dirt.
