In this let's play Minecraft 1.18 gameplay of the first experimental snapshot from 13 July 2021, we start a world in the new version that shows off the new terrain generation with more height, depth and variation than before, including ore placement.
We jump down into one of the vast new "cheese" caves that can generate, with massive stone pillars reaching for the sky. We see how plentiful they seem to be too! We also climb mountains looking for the new snowy sub-biomes, and see how biomes generate separate from terrain to make certain biomes possible in unexpected places. We also find a lush cave and a dripstone cave, which now spawn naturally in the game.
