After Effects' built-in Ramp turns saturated colors into a muddy gray ugly mess. Better Ramp fixes it, and adds more — perceptual color blending, proper alpha handling, and the controls the stock Ramp has been missing for twenty years.

• Perceptual color blending — no gray midpoints between complementary colors
• Correct alpha handling — transparent ends fade smoothly, no hard color edge
• Blend curve — reshape the falloff from tight band to wide spread
