One way to advance your vocabulary is to read difficult books and write down the words you don't understand. Along with their meanings. Prolonged exposure to those words will force you to remember them and use them in your daily life. The other way is to approximate the meaning of a word by looking at the sentence before it and the sentence after it. By contextualizing the placement of the word, you infer its meaning. This only works if you have a dictionary near by. Because all the meanings you infer will not be correct.
This video is particularly useful for those who are preparing for IELTS, SAT, TOEFL, or would simply like to be more articulate than they are today.
