This is what I am doing to stay ahead and on top of my coding development as a self taught developer. My strategy on learning hard things. Most important skill, is knowing how to learn. And this is what I cover in this video.
In this video, I talk about my strategy for self-developers to enhance their learning, particularly when lacking foundational computer science and math knowledge.
The key is to move beyond the junior developer label and acquiring skills that can compete with mid-level developers.
I share my experience of creating a game to understand complex programming concepts, such as two-dimensional arrays and pathfinding algorithms.
The learning process is broken down into three steps:
Build a Working Prototype: Use AI tools, like Cursor or ChatGPT, to develop a project that introduces new programming topics, even if not fully understood initially.
Generate Learning Resources: After creating a prototype, use ChatGPT to outline the necessary computer science and math concepts needed to understand the code, and identify relevant resources for deeper learning.
Find Tangible Learning Resources: Utilize platforms like Perplexity AI to locate courses and materials based on the outline provided by ChatGPT.
The key is to engage in active learning, troubleshooting code, and developing problem-solving skills, which are increasingly valuable in a landscape where AI tools can automate basic tasks.
AI won't replace developers, it raises the competency bar, requiring continuous learning and adaptation.
๐ Key Points Covered:
-- Gain insights on how to build a strong foundation in computer science and math.
- Learn effective strategies to leverage AI tools for your self-development.
- Discover resources that will guide your learning journey.
- Improve your problem-solving and critical thinking skills crucial for coding.
- If you find this video helpful, please give it a thumbs up, subscribe for more content like this, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments! Let's continue to learn and grow together!
Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video! ๐ฎโจ
