Hardcore Nuzlockes are already hard, but when you add in the challenge of making them mono type runs it gets exponentially more difficult. I'll be ranking every type trying to break down which are viable to use in a hardcore nuzlocke and which ones just will not work.
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. If your Pokemon faints it must be released
2. I can only catch the first Pokémon on each Route
3. I must nickname my Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items are fine)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4's highest level Pokemon (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
