"A recreation of the nightmare that started it all..."
1998 was an odd year for the horror genre. A shining example of this is Gus Van Sant’s 1998 film PSYCHO. It’s a shot-for-shot remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s orignal classic, featuring an amazing cast of actors telling the exact some story with some subtle differences.
As an experiment, I decided to remake my original “Best of PSYCHO” video from two years ago, using footage from the remake. I used the exact same scenes and even matched the runtime. Here are my favorite bits from PSYCHO (1998).
EDITOR’S NOTE: Despite being a shot-for-shot remake of the original movie, certain scenes play out a little longer in this version. One scene towards the end had to be removed in order to match the runtime. Also, the shower scene has been slighly altered to coverup the nudity of Anne Heche.
