Part 2 of the Demetori compilation. Post 2010s Demetori definitely has a different feel and sound in comparison to their previous works. The style is more djent/progressive power metal with modern production. Lower tunings are used more often. Their recent EP is great example of this!

Who are Demetori? Demetori are a progressive power metal/rock circle formed in 2005 by 2 brothers, 徳南(Tokunan) & 九宝時(Kyuuhouji). Their debut started out arranging various VGMs but has since then only made arrangements for the OSTs of Touhou Project games, their first album being a split with UI-70 called "彼岸花葬 ～The View of Spiral Riverside" to their most recent EP "瑰 狂 鬱 嵂". Their style has shifted over the years from being a progressive (King Crimson like) rock sound to a more modern prog/djent power metal sound. We can say without a doubt that they are one of the most influential Touhou metal circles to date and have certainly made a positive impact on the Touhou scene forever.

Why I love Demetori: I made this compilation b/c I truly believe that Demetori is the best of the best among their peers in genre and arrangement. I don't just mean within the Touhou community, but in the metal and video game scene as a whole. Like many, I found Demetori through rhythm games and hunting through the Japanese metal scene looking for new music. I was blown away instantly by every song I listened to and for the longest time, it was the only band I listened to. Demetori just have the perfect blend of sick riffs, complex composition, and soaring/shredding leads that just ascend you beyond the many realms. Because of them, I now do my own arrangements of various Touhou songs and carry on part of their legacy as the Touhou metal community expands wider and wider.
