Testing the best mattresses for side sleepers, hot sleepers, and back pain… but this time, I’m putting them in real bedrooms for real people with completely different sleep needs.
After testing mattresses over the past year, I’ve learned that there really isn’t one “best mattress” for everyone. So I took what I’ve learned and surprised my family with three mattresses chosen specifically for the way they sleep.

🛏️ **Bear Elite Hybrid - Best Mattress for Back Pain & Recovery**
I chose the Bear Elite Hybrid in Medium for my parents, who spend long days working on their feet and often wake up with stiffness and back discomfort. I wanted to prioritize support, pressure relief, recovery, and cooling to help them get more restorative sleep.
❄️ **Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe - Best Mattress for Hot Sleepers**
My sister Brandy sleeps HOT, so cooling was the priority. I already have an Aurora Luxe in one of the warmest bedrooms at our farmhouse and have been impressed with how comfortable it sleeps, making this an easy choice for her.
🌙 **Helix Midnight Luxe - Best Mattress for Side Sleepers**
Both my sister Trinity and I are side sleepers, and the Helix Midnight Luxe has been one of my personal favorites. For her mattress, I added the ErgoAlign support layer for additional zoned lumbar support and the GlacioTex Cooling Cover for a cool-to-the-touch feel.
