Hey friends! I'm Vid, and in this video I'm showing you how to build the easiest and most efficient Day One iron farm in Java Minecraft. Whether you’re just starting out or want a simple build that produces tons of iron fast, this tutorial is for you. Inspired by LogicalGeekBoy’s classic design, I’ve made some key updates and quality-of-life improvements to streamline the whole process for modern Minecraft. Keep in mind, this farm only works in Java Edition—if you're on Bedrock, you’ll need to check out a different method.
We’ll go step-by-step through everything you need to gather and build—from basic materials and villager transport tips to creative ways of getting your zombie in place (yes, there’s even a trapdoor trick that works every time). I’ll also walk you through options for collection systems, spawn-proofing, and how to set this thing up in the right biome and elevation. And if you’re like me and want to automate things even more, I’ve included a bonus section at the end showing how to add simple chunk loaders so your farm keeps producing iron—even when you’re far away!
