We invited a total of four 24-70mm F2.8 lenses to the slashCam editorial office for a practical shootout on the Sony A7S III and the Panasonic S5 II X: The Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II, the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II Art / E-mount, the Panasonic Lumix S Pro 24-70mm F2.8 and the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II Art / L-mount. We wanted to know: How do the Sigmas perform in video practice compared to the ‘native’ lenses and for whom is which purchase worthwhile?
First of all, it should be said that this is not a technical comparison but a brief practical/handling comparison - anyone looking for technical tests on the lenses should be able to find plenty of information on the Internet. If you do a little research here, you will soon realise that all the lenses presented here are of a very high optical standard. So you can't go seriously wrong with any of these fast zooms ... but there are some differences in handling ...
