At the May 28th, 2015 Bernalillo County Commission meeting, commissioners shot down a number of appeals by various community groups. Community activist and scholar Virginia Necochea read an impassioned speech relaying the frustration felt by the community at the manipulation of the process whereas community input was limited or met with contempt.
Community groups who's appeals were denied were: The South Valley Coalition of Neighborhood Associations, South Valley Regional Association of Acequias, the Center for Sustainable Systems, the New Mexico Environmental Law Center, the Southwest Organizing Project, New Mexico Health Equity Working Group, and Pajarito Village Neighborhood Association.
