Well known Berlin landmarks were transformed on Friday during the Festival of Lights.
Thousands watched as iconic buildings such as the Brandenburg Gate, the TV Tower and the Cathedral were festooned with colour and creations.
Aquariums of fish, dancing and insects were displayed on the edifices to mark the 20th anniversary of the festival, which runs from October 4 to 13.
Over ten nights, historic monuments, iconic buildings, and popular locations will illuminate the city, united under the theme "Celebrating Freedom."
