The benzene produced in the steel reaction vessel used in part one gets distilled again to clean it up. A quick look at the spent reactants removed from the reaction vessel is shown. Simple distillation of the orange colored product from part one yields a colorless milky benzene. The milkiness is due to moisture that will be removed with a drying agent such as anhydrous magnesium sulfate or calcium chloride.
