This is my 2 month point in Mandarin. The purpose of the video is to demonstrate that I'm more comfortable in spontaneous conversations than before, especially in the last minutes (the first minutes of the video I'm very much aware of the camera, so I hesitate a bit more due to nerves, whereas the last minute is how I speak most of the time with people).
For the last month I'll be working on the obvious mistakes and expanding my vocab and making it so people can speak faster with me, but for the moment I'm really glad I worked on other things as a priority up to now.

Tomorrow, Lauren and I are going to the opera for the first time. Since we will be seeing Carmen, I wanted to get ready by learning the lyrics of the famous song La Habanera, so I figured Id share the experience talking through the lyrics in French and its translation with you live!
Since I had technical difficulties at the start of the session, and some parts of the video that werent so interesting, I edited this down a little to be easier to watch in the long term.
I hope you enjoy watching me genuinely see the lyrics for the first time!! To mix it up a bit, my video editor made cute animations of some random parts of the lyrics for me to play on screen.
