Footage of our recently repainted and re - motored Fowler diesel locomotive operating a service train on Sunday, 31st January, 2022.
00:00 Approaching Whiteman Village Junction.
The regular service train approaches Whiteman Village Junction from the south and stops at platform 1, having left Mussel Pool station a few minutes before.
01:38 Departing the Junction for Loop South.
Our Fowler diesel locomotive 'Roasalie', having changed ends (or 'run around') its train, departs cab first to head south around our 5km Bushland Loop.
04:22 Approaching One Duck Lagoon Bridge.
Heading through a set of reverse curves, the train crosses the course of Bennett Brook, marked by dense trees and foliage, crosses the bridge over One Duck Lagoon and continues towards Zamia station in the distance.
06:07 Passing Kangaroo Flats station.
The train passes through the yard and station at Kangaroo Flats, before heading through the sweeping bend of Dead Horse Curve on its way back to Whiteman Village Junction.
07:36 Approaching Whiteman Junction from the north.
The train heads down the long grade as it returns to Whiteman Village Junction. The large roof that the camera flies over is Whiteman Parks 'Revolutions' transport museum. As the train stops, the guard alights to assist passenger to disembark.
10:03 Tram departing Whiteman Junction.
The Perth Electric Tramway Society operates trams through Whiteman Park. After departing the Junction, it passes briefly through some bushland before heading down the mall of Whiteman Village.
11:23 Bus departure from Revolutions museum.
The Bus Preservation Society of WA runs a timetabled hop on/hop off bus service through Whiteman Park on weekends. Here we see one of their buses departing from the Revolutions museum bus stop and head towards Whiteman Village.
12:27 Train departs the Junction for Mussel Pool.
Having taken on more passengers, the train departs Whiteman Village Junction, crosses Whiteman Drive West and continues on towards Mussel Pool station.
Please excuse some of the jerky camera work. I'm still getting used to flying the drone!
