This quote came to mind for them. He died so she could live. He just loved her that much.
I know I’ve used this song like twice before, but when I listen to it, it just helps convey the feeling I wanted to create with this edit. All of my reylo edits had comprised of an adversarial vibe, but this one I wanted it to be different. Hopeful, endearing, bittersweet. I wanted to focus on their soft moments, and the way that they are a dyad in the force, how they were meant to cross paths and bring balance. To focus on their soulful moments, and the love that they harbor for one another. They don't feel alone when they're with each other. And this song just worked for it.
What I found most interesting about this couple was that they were completely enemies, but they were also soft for each other at the same time. It’s just oddly heartwarming.
The end quotes when Ben ponders of the reason as to why they are connected, unaware of their future. When he said he only saw just her, I found it to the both literal but in a way not so literal. He only saw her. He turned back to the light only for her. He pretty much did everything for her in his last moments.
Editing this myself, it felt like I was ripping my own heart out but healing it at the same time. I should probably stop haha. :PP]
