Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said conditions for Palestinian prisoners had been reduced to the "bare minimum" during a visit to female inmates.

The comments came after a prisoner told him they lacked basic necessities and had gone three days without showering.

Ben Gvir compared their treatment with that of hostages held by Hamas and other militants in Gaza.
