Continuing on from the shop update video from a week ago we complete the repairs of my shop built 6 x 48 5 hp (150 x 1220 mm )(3.6 kW)belt sander. I build this sander back in the early 1990's for a shop I was working for that needed a sander badly. True scrap bin engineering. The motor was salvaged from some old packaging equipment and admittedly is a tad large for this application, but the price was right. We replace the ball bearings in the motor and repair some worn belt and work platens. The cracked wiring between the motor and the control station gets replaced as well.
