Halifax 57 Rescue travelled to Belgium in 1997 to recover a downed Halifax aircraft from World War II. The plane, a full scale bomber was over Belgium when it was shot down in a bog near the town of Geraardsbergen . At the time, BAHA, a recovery group from Belgium joined Karl and Scott on this extraordinary mission. The aircraft was melted down into ingots and since 1997, has been distributed to Air Force Memorials around the world. See Halifax 57 Rescue for more adventures. Wings of Memory has carried on with special Memorial events and has a reunion on May 12, 2024 in Belgium for the 80th Anniversary of the crash. A James Tallimar Project.
