Here's my brief video explaining that I am writing a book about Being a Prison Officer. I was a prison officer for two years at HMP Maidstone about 15 years ago. It's two years of my life that I would never forget.

I have so many memories and stories about being a prison officer, that I thought I would write about about it. I have made a start by writing as many stories and situations that I found myself in.

There are also so many characters that I can write about. Not only the prisoners themselves, but also the prison officers. Some of the biggest characters in a prison were actually the prison officers themselves.

I aim to write about being a prison offer from the training all the way through to the day I walked out of the gates for the very last time.

I'm not 100% sure whether it will be a collection of short stories about life as a prison officer, or whether I will make into a novel format.
