Beige and Lavender are GORGEOUS together / Flat Brush Abstract Acrylic Painting Technique
I pulled out quinacridone magenta, quinacridone violet, violet oxide, black, and a soft beige base… and honestly, this color palette surprised me in the best way possible.
This painting became one giant balancing act between soft gradients, rough dry brushstrokes, glowing underlayers, and trying to figure out whether I loved the composition… or absolutely ruined it halfway through. 😂
There were multiple moments during this process where I genuinely thought:
“hmmm… this might not work.”
But those moments are often the exact moments where paintings suddenly start clicking.
One of my favorite parts in this piece is the contrast between the super soft blended gradients and those raw, dry brushstrokes that break up all the neatness. It gives the painting this slightly imperfect, more abstract feeling that I really love.
And...
This might be one of the most different color palettes I’ve worked with in a long time.
