The importance of training for conditions just like this can’t be understated. The #RFS is fortunate to operate several winch-capable search and rescue helicopters, with experienced pilots and aviation rescue crews. At a recent training exercise in Penrith, our crews honed their skills winching personnel from the water, a scenario which we unfortunately may see occurring over the coming days.
