This is a beginners' guide on how to model a nice looking Flat earth or a Globe earth using Blender software: no prior experiences is needed.
After setting the initial model, we will learn how to add bump map to give it a rough/ridged look; then we will add specular or glossiness so that the water reflects back more light that lands. For night view, we will also add illuminated light that will be only visible when the sun light is not shining on it.
Moving from that: we will also create clouds that can be animated separately. Finally we will add a fake atmosphere and a starry background to give it a Sci Fi look.
You will learn the techniques to apply to both model: now you can render your own images for your presentations and videos.
For your convenience, I have edited and created some textures to be used in this project. In the following zip file, you will find 10 images: 5 for Flat Earth, and 5 for Globe Earth. This includes diffuse, normal/bump, specular/glossy, night illumination, and clouds texture.
