Have you ever wondered what dark romance is? Well, freakin same, so I wanted to just express how I see the dark romance "genre" and give you some more insight on how I characterize dark romance books in general. I think dark romance really is more of marketing term then it is a DISTINCT genre, and that instead, there are a variety of sub-genres that fit the characterization of a dark romance. Whether you like gothic romance, erotica, gory romance, horror romance, whatever. There is something the will work for you!

The main thing to know is that you are reading outside of the typical fluffier, lighthearted romances. You are now in a world filled with characters who may be broken, breaking, or are a villain. They live outside of society's norms and you can't expect them to fall in love the same way that Prince Charming does.
