Here's some beginner writing advice that I received when I started writing. Some of it worked then and some of it works for me now. But when I was a newbie writer was it really helpful?

1. Outline your work
2. You don't have to write everything in order
3. Write every day
4. Read more books
5. Write what you know
6. If you're bored, so is your reader
7. Just write, nothing else matters
8. You need feedback
9. Write what you want to read
10. Write with intention
11. Avoid cliches
