I put my own product on the line in a blind test and honestly... it made me nervous.
Here’s the setup:
⚡ Liam — 21 years old, fresh out of film school, using CineDream for only a month
⚡ Jake — 27, a professional colorist with major brand credits and 5 years in DaVinci Resolve
⚡ Three shots, all Arri LogC neither had seen before
⚡ Each had 3 minutes per shot to turn flat log into a finished cinematic color grade
We put the results to a vote on Instagram Stories, and after 12,000 votes the winner is declared.
But in the end, it wasn’t just about who won. It was about seeing if CineDream could actually give a beginner the confidence and the results to stand on the same stage as a pro.
Going in, I had no idea how it would play out. Could Liam, with only a month using CineDream, really hang with Jake’s 5 years of DaVinci experience? Or would the gap be just too wide?
