This was fun and funky!
Story:
Beetlenose and Stagheart were both competing to be the best warrior so that they could get chosen as Deputy of CedarClan when Eveningrose retired due to his age. Beetlenose ended up getting chosen, which caused a rift between her and Stagheart. Their leader, Breezestar, ended up dying suddenly and very unexpectedly, and Beetlestar was quickly promoted before she was ready and mature enough for the position. She chose her mate, Toadstripe, as deputy, despite him not really wanting the position.
About a year or so later, they had 3 kits, and once they were weened, Toadstripe took over in the nursery so Beetlestar could go back to being leader full time. During this time, Beetlestar and Stagheart had a heart-to-heart, and she admitted that she SHOULD have chosen his as her deputy, but at the time was to immature too admit he was just as deserving of a warrior as she was. Unrelated to this conversation, Toadstripe decided to step down from the deputy position after realizing he missed just being a regular warrior and hanging out with his Clanmates without that air of authority hanging over them. Beetlestar chose Stagheart to replace him with no hesitation.
