In this video I share my thoughts on Valve's Steam Machine. I love the idea of the Steam Machine. A living room gaming PC that has the form factor of a console. Additionally, Valve has done a great job with Steam OS. Linux is proving to be more and more of a viable alternative to Windows. However, with those positive aspects acknowledged, the fact remains that the Steam Machine is too expensive for what it is. It is not powerful enough to justify the cost. I genuinely think a custom built PC, a PS5, a PS5 Pro, or an Xbox Series X is a better investment at this point. All those options are cheaper and offer better performance. A custom built PC can range wildly in price. But other Youtubers such as Gamers Nexus and Linus Tech Tips have shown that a custom PC can be built for the same price and perform better than the Steam Machine.
