In my last video, I talked about how we discovered Iron Maiden through a skateboard VHS… and it got me thinking about how skate videos became the underground algorithm of the 90s — introducing kids to music they weren’t hearing on the radio, MTV, or MuchMusic.
In this video, I talk about how skate videos influenced the culture, introduced us to new music, and inspired us to make our own homemade videos… which ultimately led to Sum 41 getting signed in 1999.
