The Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti combined with the intel 9900K was a popular combo for PC gamers back in 2019. While Intel was the fastest gaming CPU, AMD was the best value for the consumer. Around this same time, we had the Ryzen 3000 series CPUs. Additionally, gamers could choose to buy the older generation of GPUs instead with the GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti for example. The hardware choices were plentiful, gamers could build a pc for almost any budget, and there were legitimate reasons to get excited for hardware. At the time of release, the 20 series GPUs from Nvidia were criticized for lack luster RTX performance, a lack of games that supported RTX, and a poor implementation for DLSS 1.0. However, in 2026, the RTX 2080 Ti has aged very well. It still holds up well in modern games at both 1080p and 1440p. Consider checking out DannyZReviews and Techwando!
