As requested by LulukaMoria_1101, I'll be covering Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 with the Mother 3 soundfont, starting with its first movement.
The powerful first movement of this symphony is incredibly compact and concentrated, and characterized by the near-constant presence of the famous "da-da-da-duuuuum" motif, which supposedly the composer himself likened to "Fate knocking at the door".
While this story is of dubious veracity, it is an apt comparison, and for comfort's sake, I'll be referring to this motif as the "Fate" motif.
The opening of this piece is perhaps the most famous among all symphonies. Right away we are introduced to the "Fate" motif, played twice in a descending fashion by the strings and clarinet (a saxophone here).
Afterward (0:07), we get a main theme group that uses the "Fate" motif as its almost exclusive fuel. The momentum is temporarily halted by a high G note (0:15), held for a couple of seconds before the accumulation of energy continues towards a loud climax (0:35).
A prominent horn call (0:40), which is itself a variant of the "Fate" motif, introduces the sweet, song-like second theme (0:42). Even in this pleasant change of scenery, a sense of possible threat remains, mostly because of the basses sneakily continuing to play the motif underneath the melody.
At any rate, a joyous and exultant closing section (1:00) ties up the exposition, which ends quite neatly with a cheerful use of the "Fate" motif (1:09).
The exposition is repeated (1:18) and after that, a variation (2:36) of the opening ushers in the development section. At first, it seems to be merely a slightly different version of the main theme group (2:41), but quite soon it reveals to be moving on to different territories (2:48).
This is carried to a violent outburst (3:03), and then an episode dedicated entirely to the horn call (3:09). This call is eventually deconstructed (3:18). The music grows more and more hushed until the "Fate" motif returns (3:45) to pull us into the recapitulation.
The presentation of the motif from the opening returns, this time blared by the whole orchestra (3:50). The main theme group proceeds as expected, except that an oboe grabs the halting on the high G as an opportunity to launch on a brief, impassioned solo (4:06). This is a bizarre detail for a classical piece, but just as effective in its emotional impact.
Aside from the horn call being given to a different instrument this time around (4:40), the rest of the recapitulation proceeds in mostly the same fashion.
Beethoven goes out of his way to end this movement dramatically, though. Instead of ending as neatly as the exposition did, the recapitulation rushes straight ahead (5:21) into a long and electrifying coda. The intensity in this last section easily outdoes everything heard before.
Near the end, the orchestra rallies the music to a dramatic stop with a climactic statement of the "Fate" motif (6:20). From the silence emerges a defeated, dark, and even melancholic version of the motif (6:29). To me, this brief moment suggests the "sad truth" that's really at the emotional core of this stormy movement.
This pathos is brusquely interrupted (6:36), however, and the movement soon ends in that same fashion.
