"Bed-Stuy" A visual poem by A. Souto.
Filmed by chance, written spontaneously, and edited by A. Souto.
Music by 156 and Ed Matus.
Words:
I've read the signs in my neighborhood.
I don't believe all of them.
It's a place filled with chop shops,
junkyards,
and dump sites galore.
Where iron and stone hardly hold one another up,
and parks are behind lock and key.
Everyone here is trying to leave a mark
in a place where it all goes to hell so quick.
You don't know which way is which,
because we all speak a different language.
When the writing on the wall starts to look foreign,
soon everyone walks a real tight line.
Afraid not to grow through the cracks,
and, more so, to fall through them.
It's as if God has abandoned this place,
though many still pray,
remembering to look up,
and then back down, a little differently.
Following an absurd, yet joyful path
towards happiness again.
I know where I want to be:
A place with good friends,
and more art than the eye can stand.
So I'll know how to answer, if ever asked,
"Will you do it all again?"

Stop Driving Us Crazy a cut-up short by 156
The film uses bits of Stop Driving Us Crazy, a 1950s, Christian classroom film made by the General Board of Temperance of the Methodist Church (and the National Safety Council), and features music by 156.
156 is a musical project by Adel Souto of Feast of Hate and Fear [dot] com, and has been described as authentic noise (as in the 78 school of industrial music) blending the likes of Einstürzende Neubauten and Crash Worship, and has often been called an evil drum circle in a junkyard.
No outside samples were used in making this.
The music track consists of Pieces 1 - 6 of the 21 minute track Backyard, which appears on the Frontyard / Backyard EP, out now, on Acid Casualty (FL). Stop Driving Us Crazy a cut-up short by 156](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/viWfjPT0gzI/mqdefault.jpg)
