"But here is what I need you to see: love is not only what God asks of us. Love is who God is. The God we meet in Scripture is anything but numb—a God who rejoices over you with singing, a God grieved to the very heart, a God stirred to holy anger at injustice. Father, Son, and Spirit—a community of self-giving love before the world began. So when we learn to feel-with one another, we are not just coping a little better. We are being remade into the likeness of the God who made us."
