Homeland: Carrie and Brody.
Love against all odds.
This video is sort of personal though, it's more of a self portrait video.
I adore Carrie and Brody together against all odds, this is just...well this is about me and 'him'.
Never let someone convince you that you are crazy, when you are so completely convinced that something terrible is happening. Don't let anyone do that to you.. You need to trust your instincts. That moment in Homeland where Carrie sees evidence that Brody was a terrorist all along...and she just whispers to Saul through tears: 'I was right'. A broken little girl's voice.. It's the exact thing I said when I was alone at his flat and I found evidence of some truly despicable things he had done. I sensed it was happening but I stopped listening to myself because he told me I was insane.
Carrie let him convince her she was mad. She started to stop believing in herself. She went through the most traumatic electric shock therapy believing it was the only way to get these thoughts out of her head. But after all that..... she was right about him. Now all the people who disbelieved her, who disregarded her experience because the word on the street was that Carrie was having a mental breakdown.... all those people know that in the end, she was right.
In the end, I wasn't insane. In the end, I saw evidence of the horrible things he lied about doing.
Three simple words. I have to say them to myself in the mirror, sometimes. Just to remind myself.
"I was right"
