It's just not a Japanese summer without fireworks! The sight of the traditionally made fireworks exploding in the night sky makes you forget the heat of summer and never fails to draw an "ooh" and "ah" from the crowd. In the Kyoto area there are a few festivals that offer fireworks shows, one of them being the Kameoka Heiwa-sai Hozugawa Hanabi Taikai.
Held in August, the festival takes place along the Hozugawa river in Kameoka, a city over the mountains to the west of Kyoto. Though it takes a bit of time to get there, over 75,000 people are said to have visited to enjoy the festival last year! Head out to Kameoka with our team, sit back, and enjoy the fireworks!
