Mercuri has a mate named Finnegan. (Grey Wolf). She eventually gets tired of him and runs off from the Present-Day Massachusetts area to the southern Illinois prairies. There she meets Calvin, (the Labrador-like hybrid). Since she’s a dishonest, cheating liar, Mercuri figures that Finnegan will forget about her...but nope! He tracks her down only to find her expecting with Calvin! What a blow for Finnegan!
