Set in Japan in the year 4026, Beast of Reincarnation takes place in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by a corruption known as the Blight. The catastrophe transforms wildlife into aggressive, mutated creatures called Malefacts. To survive, parts of humanity have transferred their consciousness into immortal machine bodies known as Golems, while those remaining in organic bodies live under constant threat of contamination.
The overarching threat is the titular Beast of Reincarnation, an entity that emerges periodically to threaten humanity's remaining strongholds.
Main Narrative Arc:
The Protagonist: You follow Emma, a stoic Purifier (or Sealer) afflicted with the Blight. Rather than succumbing to the corruption, she can manipulate plants and dark power through the mark on her body to fight back.
The Companion: Joined by her giant blighted dog, Koo, Emma travels across ruined Japanese landscapes—from overgrown ruins to underground industrial facilities—to track down and cleanse corrupted beasts.
The Mission: Guided by her handler Brad and traveling with companions like the young girl Kagura, Emma journeys toward the Capital on a mission to destroy the Beast of Reincarnation. Along the way, the narrative delves into fragmented memories, the nature of human consciousness, and what it truly means to possess a soul.
