Hey guys,
Our song “Laurel Wreath” is all about people coming together to beat loneliness and during lockdown it feels more relevant now than ever to us.
So we thought it’d be fun to try something, we’ve each recorded our basic parts to Laurel Wreath whilst in isolation and mixed them into a new version of the track.
It is currently unfinished but that’s where you come in, we’d love it if you wanted to play along and add your own part, whether that’s vocals, bass, guitar, drums, keys or whatever instrument you play, so we can finish the track with everybody playing on it together.
Here’s how to take part - download the unfinished version of Laurel Wreath, film yourself playing your part using your smartphone (make sure you’re listening to the unfinished track in headphones so we just hear your part on your recording).
If you’re more music tech savvy you could record your part into Garage Band / Logic or whatever software you use and sync it up to a video of you playing too. If tech isn’t your bag then just play/sing using your iPhone or MacBook camera and inbuilt computer/phone microphone (while wearing headphones) and send us a video of you performing with the audio.
We can then pull it altogether and figure out the weird tech bits.
If you’re not sure how to play the parts, we’ve made the chords available.
Once you’re done, upload your video to the dropbox link and we’ll show you what we’ve all created together in a couple of weeks. (PS. If you want to share your video to your own socials in the meantime, make sure you tag us in!)
