This is a demonstration of the Beard & Bros. first time lock model, the Type 1. It is also compared to their second model the Type 2 as well as the successor company, the Mosler Safe & Lock Co., that bought out Beard in 1887, and whose first time lock was a near copy of Beard's Type 2. Mosler went on to produce time locks until their bankruptcy and subsequent sale to Diebold in 2001.
