🐻 Ojo has a case of artist’s block, so Bear sends her exploring the Big Blue House in search of inspiration! 🎨 Bear, Ojo, Tutter, Treelo, Pip and Pop are all here to sing silly songs, make enormous ice-cream sundaes, create fun puppet shows, stories and plenty of imagination.
*Bear in the Big Blue House: Bear’s Imagine That!* is an educational CD-ROM game based on the Jim Henson television series. Released for Windows PCs around 1999, the game focuses on creativity and imagination and features specially recorded appearances by the characters from the show.
Ojo is pretending to be the great artist “Ojo-angelo,” but there’s one problem: she can’t think of anything to draw! Bear encourages her to explore the Big Blue House, spend time with her friends and discover inspiration through all kinds of creative activities.
Throughout the house, Ojo can visit familiar characters and take part in five main activities:
🍨 *Make Ice-Cream Sundaes*
Visit Tutter in the kitchen, catch flying scoops of ice cream and create your own ridiculous sundaes with a huge assortment of toppings.
🎭 *Put On a Puppet Show*
Tutter also runs the puppet theatre, where familiar fairy tales are given a Big Blue House twist. Choose what happens during the story and control the puppets on stage.
🎵 *Make Music with Pip and Pop*
Head upstairs to visit Pip and Pop and create your own silly versions of songs. Pick different lyrics and then listen to the otters perform the finished song.
🖍️ *Create Pictures and Stories with Treelo*
Arrange characters, objects and backgrounds to create your own pictures. Ojo then uses what you made as inspiration for a story.
🔨 *Build with Bear*
Visit Bear in the attic and use an assortment of everyday objects to make imaginative creations. Ojo works alongside you and makes creations of her own.
The Big Blue House itself can also be freely explored, with clickable surprises hidden throughout its rooms. The game includes both directed and free-play options, printable activities and a recording feature that allows players to narrate their own stories.
